Therapeutic massages

Massage is a natural health and treatment system.

The body is affected by applying special massage techniques to treat health disorders. Massage of pathologically tense large body muscles improves muscle functions, makes movements freer, raises endurance and work capacity.

Deep tissue massage helps to relax the body fascias, which make up more than 50% of the body weight. With fascial tension, muscles will always be tense, and the body itself will not cope with myofascial problems. By massaging tight muscles, the fibrotic areas of the increased tone are reduced. Ischemic compression and post-isometric muscle relaxation eliminate spasticity of trigger points. It has a strong effect on the whole nervous system which regulates the processes in the human body.
Massage not only mobilizes compressed nerves, but also restores a psycho-emotional balance. Massage can be applied not only to muscles, but also to abdominal organs by adjusting their position in the abdominal cavity. Manual abdominal plastic regulates intestinal motor function, eliminates spasms, provides small pelvic organ therapy, stimulates postsurgical wound regeneration after abdominal surgery, and models body lines.

Massage by body areas
Partial massage is applied to individual areas of the body by selecting particular massage elements individually for each patient, depending on one’s condition. Massages are applied to:
  • Head, neck, shoulder girdle
  • Neck, shoulder girdle and arms
  • Back
  • Waist, buttocks and legs
  • All body
Sports massage
This very strong, deep-impact and targeted massage is applied not only to professional athletes to adjust to physical loads and improve athletic performance. It also helps to eliminate accumulated muscle tensions and the feeling of body heaviness for active lifestyle lovers or those undergoing high physical strain at work and during leisure time.
Sports massage is stronger than the classical massage – it is performed at an intense pace, with strong, deep, fast muscle-warming movements stimulating only certain or all muscle groups.
This type of massage effectively reduces physical fatigue and fatigue-caused muscle pain, and provides energy. Increased blood and lymph circulation activates muscle metabolism and improves ligament and tendon elasticity. This massage helps to prepare for workouts, prevent injuries, and improves physical capacity and adaptation
Point massage
A trigger point is a hypersensitive spot in the muscle or its ends. Pressing a trigger point causes the local point pain and the reflection pain in the remote area.
Trigger points result from visceral organ diseases or systemic diseases, e.g. rheumatoid arthritis. When a muscle is damaged, it learns to avoid pain. When a trigger point forms, it develops skills with a limited muscle function – the muscle works in an incomplete amplitude and contracts at an incomplete force.
The most popular technique for working with a trigger point is ischemic compression. By massaging tight muscles, the fibrotic areas of the increased tone are reduced. Ischemic compression and post-isometric muscle relaxation eliminate spasticity of trigger points. Local warmth and the encouragement not to limit the full amplitude of movements restore muscle function. The better is the muscle function, the less likely that trigger points will re-form.
The structural fibrous muscle change is always accompanied by fascial tension. Thus, a physiotherapist will select the right therapy strategy – a point or deep tissue massage.
Deep tissue massage
Deep tissue massage helps to relax body fascias, which make up more than half of the body weight. Fascias form a continuous system by enveloping the body structures – muscles, organs, nerves, blood vessels; fascias penetrate into them, give shape and support, and thus determine the quality of their function.
Fascial activity and tension can be felt with palms. The diagnostics and therapy are performed in the same way. The work is very slow; when fixing and stretching the tissue, the biochemical composition and electrical potential of the material between the fascial layers are changed, thus the tissue relaxes.
With fascial tension, muscles will always be tense. The body needs help coping with myofascial problems. The major purpose of deep tissue massage is to restore fascial structure, improve the functions of muscles, tendons and ligaments, raise the amplitude of movements in the affected area and reduce pain.
Pregnancy massage
Pregnant women often suffer from neck, shoulder girdle, back and lumbar pain. A special pregnancy massage helps to eliminate fatigue and tension, reduces pain. The massage is applied by adjusting positions – lying on a side and selecting gentle massage techniques that not only restore the muscle tone, but also have a relaxing and soothing effect.
